Graveside funeral services for Carolyn Gilfillian Swofford, 71, of Bishopville will be held Friday, October 1, 2010 at 4:00 PM in Grandview Memorial Park, Rock Hill, SC. Rev. Sim Smith will officiate.
The family will receive friends Thursday, September 30, 2010 from 6:00 -7:00 PM at Kornegay Funeral Home Camden Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent in Mrs. Swofford’s memory to Hospice Care of SC, 1989 South Pine Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
Mrs. Swofford, widow of Charles Odus Swofford, died Tuesday, September 28, 2010. Born in Gaffney, she was the daughter of the late Clem and Estelle Gilfillan. Mrs. Swofford was a retired weaver with Kendall Mill.
She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Farrell Shoemake, of Elgin; son, John “Joey” Wyatt of Bishopville; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sisters, Katie Upchurch of Rock Hill, Margaret Hilton of Rock Hill and Shirley Painter of Gaffney and brother, Jimmy Gilfillan of Gaffney.
