Sumter, SC
James Allen Folsom, 66, died Saturday, August 29, 2009 at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.
Born in Sumter County, he was a son of the late Lyde Folsom and the late Evelyn Barrett Folsom Brown. Mr. Folsom was a lifetime resident of Sumter County. He was formerly employed by Sumter Machinery.
Survivors include an uncle, J.W. Barrett (Elizabeth) of Camden; three aunts, Louise Barrett Johnson of Camden, Ruth Barrett Floyd of Winder, GA, and Mary Barrett Poole of Lawrenceville, GA; several cousins; and a longtime friend, Bobby Saxton.
A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Tuesday in the Hancock-Elmore-Hill Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Jerry Peacock officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service in the chapel and other times at the home of his uncle, 5074 Jamestown Road, Camden.
Hancock-Elmore-Hill Funeral Home of Bishopville is in change of the arrangements.
