Hamlin Huiet "Buck" Jordan, 83, husband of Helen Ulmer Jordan, died Wednesday, August 12, 2009, at Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center.
Born November 24, 1925, he was a son of the late Ivery A. Jordan and the late Lois Kempson Jordan. Mr. Jordan was a United States Air Force Veteran. He was a member of First Baptist Church where he served as Treasurer and was a Deacon for many years. He also served on the Finance Committee and was Chairman of the Education Building Committee. He was a member of the Friendship Fellowship Class and won the 2009 Cup of Water award. He was also a member of the Gamecock Club for 50 years and was a member of the Lions Club. Mr Jordan was owner and operator of Jordan Motors from 1947-1995.
Survivors in addition to his wife include two sons, Alan Jordan and Steven Jordan (Teresa); six grandchildren, Laura Robinson, Shannon Drayton, Lindsay Brazell, Steven Jordan, Jr., John Maersch, and David Maersch; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Hildreth Love and Tootsie Crouch (Louie), both of Columbia; and his beloved cat, Punk.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Jordan Parler; and a brother, Jimmy Jordan.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church, Bishopville. Burial will be in the Piedmont Cemetery.
