Virgil Hubert Hatton, 75, husband of Ruth Ann Winger Hatton, died Sunday, August 02, 2009 at Kershaw County Medical Center.
Born in Sky, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Johnny Hatton and the late Mattie Mae Mullins Hatton. Mr. Hatton was a member of Ashwood Church of the Nazarene. He was a Firefighter in the United States Air Force and retired after 21 years of service and later retired from the Civil Service after 20 years of service.
Survivors in addition to his wife include two daughters, Mona Chua (Ben) and Cheryl Hatton (Vincent); two sons, Virgil Hatton (Amanda) and Anthony Wayne Hatton (Jennifer); five grandchildren, Tara, Scott, Shane, Thomas, and Andrew; two sisters, Alberta Barker (Jerry) and Flita Mae Brown, both of Kentucky; a brother, Chester Lee Hatton (Ruth) of Kentucky; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by five brothers; and one sister.
Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday at Ashwood Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Robert Morris, the Rev. T. W. Mitchell, and the Rev. James Copeland officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be David Christmas, Terry Davis, Raymond Lane, Christian Dreamer, Scott China, and Joey Barkley.
Honorary pallbearers will be Shane Hatton, Thomas Hatton, and Lois Martin.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hancock-Elmore-Hill Funeral Home and other times at the home, 643 Williamson Road, Bishopville.
