Elliott, SC
Wiley A. "WA" Mozingo, 93, husband of Clara Perritt Mozingo, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, at his home, surrounded by his family.
Born in Lee County, he was a son of the late Rev. and Mrs. Wiley Alton Mozingo Sr. He was a member of Elliott Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon for many years. He was a farmer and retired from the Lee County Sheriff's Department after 24 years of dedicated service. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years; three daughters, Becky Bredeau (Albert), Sue "Joey" Boyce (Bill) of Bishopville and Jackie Moore (Buddy) of Sumter; a son, Hebert Mozingo (Marie) of Bishopville; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, four sisters and a great-grandson.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today at Elliott Baptist Church with the Rev. Ryan Riley and the Rev. Robert Griggs officiating. Burial will be in Wells Cemetery.
His grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers will be past and present Lee County Sheriff's Department officers.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3 p.m. today in the fellowship hall of Elliott Baptist Church and others times at the home, 756 Dog Island Road, Bishopville.
