Thomas T. "Pots" Pringels
Thomas T. "Pots" Pringels, 89, husband of Elsie N. Pringels, died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.
Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late Theofanis and Helen T. Pringels. Mr. Pringels was a member of St. John United Methodist Church, the American Legion, the Sumter Masonic Lodge No. 364, and the Sumter Coin Club. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in the 272nd Field Artillery Battalion.
Survivors include his wife; two brothers, Gus T. Pringels (Ruby) and Jimmy T. Pringels, both of Sumter; two nieces, Susan Horton and Peggy Pringels; a nephew, Steve Jarrell; and a sister-in-law, Margaret Jarrell.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, George T. Pringels and Johnny T. Pringels; a sister, Georgia Pringels; and a nephew, Teddy Pringels.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Bob Huggins officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home.
Memorials may be made to St. John United Methodist Church, 136 Poinsett Drive, Sumter, SC 29150 or to a charity of one's choice.
Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.

Almost 65 years as an active Mason, he was supportive to the end. What a testament.
