Thomas "Tom" Duane Davis
Thomas Duane Davis, 71, husband of Nora Ann Wilson Davis, died Thursday, April 12, 2012, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.
Born in Pittsburgh, Pa., he was a son of Marian Jessie Acor Stuckey and the late Jack Davis. Mr. Davis was a retired production manager of Madison Industries and was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was a member of Sumter Masonic Lodge No. 364, Gamecock Shrine Club, Jamil Temple and the Jamil Jets.
Surviving are his mother of Inverness, Fla.; his wife of Sumter; two daughters, Melissa Ann Davis (Johnny) of Sumter and Candace Davis Brown (David) of Dalzell; one brother, Jack Allen Davis of Leesburg, Fla.; one granddaughter, Elizabeth Morgan Brown of Dalzell; two special cousins, Lee Harry Acor of Leesburg and Mark Harry Alexander of Oklahoma City, Okla.; a very special companion, his dog Noel; a very special friend, John Fullard; and a very special friend of the family, Leigh D. Dinkins.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Susan Davis.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Chapel of Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with Masonic Rites. Burial will be in St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Brown, Keith Hodge, Donnie McLeod, Eddie Bryant, Bruce Galloway and Adam Bryant.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Jamil Jets.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and at other times at the home, 319 Stewart St.
