BISHOPVILLE - Beulah Helen Snyder Nash, 99, of Bishopville, died Thursday, April 12, 2012, in Myrtle Beach after a short illness.
Born December 3, 1912, in Union County, NC, she was a daughter of the late Solomon Franklin Snyder and the late Mary Parker Snyder. She was married December 3, 1938, to the late Kemp Charles Nash. She was educated in the Union County, NC, schools and Wingate College. She had been an active member of First Baptist Church in Bishopville since 1938 and served as the superintendent of the Junior Department for 25 years. She was employed by Dr. Herman Denny for 25 years.
Survivors include three children, Kemp Charles "Swami" Nash Jr. (Nina) of Myrtle Beach, Martha Nash Gooding (Grant) of Diamond Head, MS, and Ralph Franklin Nash of Myrtle Beach; grandchildren, Kemp C. Nash III (Tonya) of Little River, Kyle C. Nash of Myrtle Beach, Helen Gooding Leupold (Christopher) of Gibsonville, NC, and Caroline Gooding Pendergast of Mandeville, LA; great-grandchildren, Brooke, Claire and Katie Pendergast, Madeline, Mary and Joseph Leupold, and Haley and Noah Nash.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, two sisters, and a grandson, Michael B. Nash.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, Bishopville, with the Rev. Sam Stevens officiating. Burial will be in Piedmont Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday in the church fellowship hall.
