MARY L. ELMORE
Mary Lee Elmore was born in Sumter County on Feb. 9, 1920, to the parents of Alexander and Katie Mathis Hancock. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, Jan. 28, 2011. She was the widow of Lucius N. Elmore Sr. She was retired from Bishopville Manufacturing and was a faithful member of Hephzibah Bible Church in Bishopville.
She is survived by her children, Mary Lucia Lee of Bishopville, Harry Elmore Sr., (Barbara) of Bishopville, Carlene Elmore Black (Alan) of Lilburn , Ga. ; and daughter-in-law Kay Elmore of Bishopville.
She is also survived by her grandchildren: Melesia Lee Walden, Warren Lee Sr., Timothy Lee (Laurie), Len Elmore, Ronnie Elmore (Tracy), Renee Ward (Buddy), Harry Elmore Jr., Gary Crainshaw, Vickie Crainshaw, Michael Black (Courtney) and Corey Black.
Her great-grandchildren are: Ashley Ryan (Garret), Andrew Walden, Warren Lee Jr., Lindsey Lee, Bryant Lee, Mason Putnam, Faith Putnam, Geni Theriot (Justin), LeeAnn Elmore, Lucy Ward, Chase Ward, Mollie Ward, Nicholas Johnson, Wesley Crainshaw, Jeffrey Crainshaw, Dylan Black, and Jesse Black.
She also had numerous nieces, nephews, and close family friends.
She was preceded in death by a son, Lucius Elmore Jr.; a son-in-law, Warren S. Lee; a grandson, Robert D. Walden Jr.; and a granddaughter, Julianne Lee.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday in the Hancock-Elmore-Hill Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Timothy Lee officiating. Burial will be in the Hephzibah Bible Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Hancock-Elmore-Hill Funeral Home.
The family would like to recognize the care provided by Sandy Culp, as well as the Hospice workers of Amedisys.
