Graveside services for Jimmy Boan age 69, who passed away April 20, will be held Monday at 4:00 at Westview Memorial Cemetery with Masonic Rites, directed by Norton Funeral Home. Rev. Danny Holley and Rev. Kevin Walters will officiate.
Visitation will be Sunday 4-6 pm at the Funeral Home. Jimmy was born in Darlington County a son of the late Harold Eugene & Laura Alice Rhodes Boan.
He was retired from A.O. Smith Water Products, a member of the Hartsville Masonic Lodge, a volunteer with the Hartsville Fire Department for many years.
He was a Big Brother for many years and received the Pee Dee Big Brother of the Year Award in 1973.
He was an avid fisherman and loved antique cars.
Surviving are his wife, Myrtle Tisdale Boan, Hartsville; two daughters, Loretta (Mike) Tiller, McBee, Greta (David) Elliotte, Hartsville; two grandchildren, Amanda & Justin Tiller, McBee; one sister: Martha McCall, Alcolu.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Travis Eugene Boan and a sister, Miriam Hinkle. Memorials may be made to the Greater Heights Baptist Church Building Fund, 3269 Union Church Road, McBee, S.C. 29101. www.nortonfh.net
