Funeral services for Emory Herbert Mixon, 92, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Prospect United Methodist Church. The Rev. Larry Brown will officiate with burial in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2 - 3 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home is serving the family.

Mr. Mixon, widower of Emma Jane Johnson Mixon, died peacefully on Saturday, March 23, 2013. Born in Chesterfield, Co., SC, he was a son of the late David Sims and Maggie Johnson Mixon.
He was a life long member of Prospect United Methodist Church. He was both a farmer and owner/manager of Mixon Logging. He was hard working since the age of 17and loved his God, wife of 67 years, family, and church.
Surviving are his sons, Herb (Jan) Mixon of Hartsville, SC, Aubrey (Ginger) Mixon of McBee, SC, Mike (Sandra) Mixon of Bishopville, SC; grandchildren, Melissa Mixon, Mickey (Jacquelyn) Mixon, Chuck (Tiffany) Mixon, Tracie (Bryan) Mixon, Wendy (Warner) Logan, Dana Mixon; great-grandchildren, Mark Mixon, Matthew Mixon, Michaela Mixon, Jordan Mixon, Payton Mixon, Emily Jay Mixon, Kayla Pettis, Brandon Woodward, Emma Logan, Martha Jane Logan; 3 great great-granchildren.
