Henry Timmons "Tim" Whitehead, 58, died Monday, Oct. 5, 2009.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Salem United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Layton-Anderson Funeral Home.

Mr. Whitehead was born in Sumter County, the son of Howard Eugene Whitehead Sr. and the late Henrietta Timmons Whitehead. He graduated from Bishopville High School and attended Spartanburg Junior College. Tim was a member of Salem United Methodist Church in Timmonsville. He was a maintenance engineer with Hartsville Country Club.

Survivors are his father; his stepmother, Esther Baker Whitehead of Sumter; his wife of 15 years, Robbin Watford Whitehead of Lamar; two daughters, Lesli Shannon Whitehead of Chapin, and Breanna Lynn Whitehead of Lamar; one brother, Howard E. Whitehead Jr. (Karen) of St. Helena Island; a sister, Debbie A. Whitehead of Sumter; his granddaughter, Lacy Ellen Whitehead; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lenora and Lawrence Watford of Lynchburg.
