Funeral services for Doris Watkins Kelley, age 83, of Bishopville, will be held Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 3:00 pm at St. Matthews United Methodist Church, with a private burial. Rev. Barbee Parsons, Rev. Ricky Howell & Rev. Edward L. Davidson will officiate.

Visitation will be Monday, October 19, 2009 from 6-8 pm at Norton Funeral Home, Bishopville and at other times at the residence 2265 Bethune Highway, Bishopville.

Mrs. Kelley, widow of Glenwood Kelley, died Saturday, October 17, 2009. Born in Lee County, she was the daughter of the late Eddie Lee & Moise Pate Watkins. She had retired as a sales associate at B.C. Moore & Sons in Bishopville. She was a member of St. Matthews United Methodist Church, the Joy Club and the Women’s Society of Christian Service, of which she had served as Secretary.

Mrs. Kelley will be remembered for her strong faith, her unselfish love for others, always placing the desires of others above her own, and her generous spirit.

She is survived by a daughter, Dorothy Jean (Kenny) Lucas, two grandsons, Keith and Kelley Lucas of Bishopville, one sister, Emily Watkins Best, Camden, and one brother, Dr. W. Curtis (Joyce) Watkins of Camden. She was predeceased by two sisters, Ruth Watkins Davidson and Sallie Watkins Brown and two brothers, Marvin and Ben Watkins.

Memorials may be made to St. Matthews United Methodist Church Building Fund, 2238 Bethune Highway, Bishopville, S.C. 29010.

Pallbearers: Marty Best, Marvin Lee Brown, Tommy Davidson, Doug Kelley, Alan Watkins, and Billy Watkins.
