Beverly Jean Hudson Branton - Sunday, November 16, 2014

Hopkins, SC

Beverly Jean Hudson Branton, age 55, died on Sunday, November 16, 2014 at Palmetto Health Baptist.

Born in Ft. Worth, TX, she was the daughter of  Maurice A. Hudson and the late Geraldine Reffitt Hudson. Beverly graduated  from St. Andrews Presbyterian College with a BA in Photojournalism. She was awarded second place by Governor Carroll Campbell for her work as a photojournalist and covering agriculture for the Conway Journal for two years in a row. She was an advocate for Breast Cancer and participated annually in the  Breast Cancer walk to Charlotte. She traveled to Columbus, Ohio once a week for over 4 years to take care of her sister during her courageous battle with cancer. She enjoyed the outdoors and loved to travel. Beverly will be remembered as a loving daughter, mother, friend and kind soul. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her.

Surviving in addition to her father are:  Step son, Dustin Smith of Conway; step daughter, Marie Branton of Conway; one brother - in- law, Vince Marchese of Columbus, Ohio and one grandchild, Camden Cash Branton.

In addition to her mother, she is preceded in death by a son, Nicholas Branton, one sister, Sue Marchese and two nephews, Nathan Marchese and Christopher Marchese.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 21, 2014 at 12:00 pm in the Bullock Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tommy McDonald officiating.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 20, 2014 from 5-7 pm at Bullock Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that  donations be made to SCOA Cares Foundation, P.O. Box 2046, West Columbia, SC 29171.
