LEXINGTON - The memorial service for John Edward Curry, 84, of Lexington, will be held 2 o'clock, Tuesday, May 31, 2011, at First Baptist Church of Lexington, with Pastor Ralph Schneck officiating. Members of the Lexington Masonic Lodge #152 and the S.O.S. Life Group are invited to serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1 o'clock. Shives Funeral Home is assisting the family. Mr. Curry died Thursday, May 26, 2011. Born in Madison, West Virginia, on January 22, 1927, he was a son of the late Edward Ship and Reber Stone Curry. After serving his country in the US Army, John spent many years in sales, and worked as a mortgage broker with Home Buyers Mortgage. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Lexington, the S.O.S. Life Group Sunday School Class, the Masonic Lodge #152, and was a Shriner.

Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Curry; daughters, Deborah (Rick) Stalvey and Cathi (Wallace) Fallaw, both of Gaston; step-son, Cliffton D. (Cindy) Krell of Lexington, SC; step-daughter, Angela "Angie" Babbette Krell of Columbia; grandchildren, Kyle, Tyler, Nicholas, Jacob, Shane, Adam, Levi, Tammy, Heather, Harvey and Terrell; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Norris E. Curry of Dayton, OH; brothers-in-law, William Fenimore and Buddy (Beth) Franklin; and sisters-in-law, Dottie Anderson and June Ann Dorne. Garis Bryan - May 26, 2011

Garis Bryan, beloved husband of Guelda Bryan died on Thursday, May 26, 2011 at his residence.

Mr. Bryan was born on November 10, 1937 in Troy, Kansas to the late Leslie Leroy and Vera Louise Bryan. He retired from the United States Air Force after 23 years of service and later retired from the Crown Oil Company as a District Manager of Training. He was a Mason and a member of the Hillcrest Lodge. He loved to work with wood and loved to camp. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Surviving in addition to his wife are: two sons, Gregory “Greg” Bryan and Garth Bryan and his wife Ruth, all of Savannah, Missouri ; one daughter, Glenda Bryan Painter and her husband John of Dalzell; one brother, Leslie Bryan and his wife Ginny of St. Joseph, Missouri; three sisters; Nelda Bryan of St. Joseph, Missouri, Marilyn Bryan of St. Joseph, Missouri and Annetta Bryan Herbert and her husband Ted of Madison, Indiana; three grandchildren : Amanda Bryan, Jessica Bryan and April Painter and one great-grandchild; Heaven Bryan.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Sue McDonald. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 29, 2011 at 3:00 in the Bullock Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wanda Altman officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with full Military Honors. The family will receive friends on Sunday May 29, 2011 from 2-3 prior to the service at Bullock Funeral Home. Frances M. Zecher - May 18, 2011

Bishopville, S.C.

Funeral services for Frances M. Zecher, age 87, who passed away May 18, will be held Sat. at 2:00pm at the High Hill True Light Church of Christ in Lucknow. 

Visitation will be Friday 6-8 pm at Norton Funeral Home, Hartsville Chapel. Burial will be in the High Hill True Light Church of Christ Cemetery. 

Frances was  a daughter of the late Doctor J.E. Watkins and Fannie Watkins . She moved to Washington, D.C. during the war and married her husband, the late Henry Wilson Zecher. With her husband, she raised a family in Rockville Maryland and worked at the Pentagon during the war and later worked for the Montgomery County Public Schools. When she retired, she moved back to South Carolina where she resided with her sister, Mary Hoover.  

Frances was a member of the High Hill True Light Church of Christ in Lucknow. She is survived by two children, Henry Wilson Zecher, Jr., Waukesha, Wisconsin and Marilyn Zecher-Riefner, Rockville, Maryland as well as her family here in South Carolina, especially her beloved sister Mary Hoover. www.nortonfh.net

Bishopville, S.C. Graveside services for Dale Flowers Skinner, age 76, who passed away May 16, will be held Wednesday at 5:00 pm at the Piedmont Cemetery directed by Norton Funeral Home. Rev. Wayne Flowers will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday 5-7 pm at the Funeral Home. Mrs. Skinner was born in Darlington a daughter of the late George & Ruth Moody Flowers. She was a member of the Bishopville First Baptist Church and was a retired Beautician.
