Robert "Bob" Eldridge Stokes

Graveside service for Robert "Bob" Eldridge Stokes, 77, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 10, 2014, in Hebron United Methodist Church Cemetery, 3471 Una Road, Bishopville, SC 29010. The Rev. George Rushe and the Rev. Jerry McManus, Sr. will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside and also from 3-5 p.m. at the residence. Mr. Stokes died Friday, March 7, 2014. Born in Bishopville, SC, he was a son of the late Eldridge E. and Hallie McLeod Stokes. Bob was a graduate of Bishopville High School and also Newberry College, where he majored in education and played on the football team. He was employed with Scott Foresman as a textbook representative for many years. Surviving are his wife, Eula Mozingo Stokes of Chapin, SC; son, Brad (Suzy) Stokes of Chapin, SC; daughter, Brandon (Dr. Jeff) Queen of Knoxville, TN; sister, Sarah (Rick) Steadman of Mount Pleasant, SC; granddaughter, Mallory Stokes of Columbia, SC; nieces, Mackie Steadman (Mike) Talley, Sarah Ann Steadman; nephew, Andy Steadman; stepdaughter, Lisa (Marsh) Burckhalter of Aiken, SC; stepson, Rip (Amber) Lorick of Austin, TX; stepgrandchildren, Lucy and Marsh Burckhalter. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jeanne Stokes Kummero. Memorials may be made to the Hebron United Methodist Church, c/o Chip Clanton, 242 Woodham Rd., Bishopville, SC 29010.
