Born in Pittsburgh, Pa., he was a son of Eva Jean Miller Kuhns and the late Reed William Kuhns. Mr. Kuhns was a U.S. Air Force veteran of Vietnam. He was a member of Sumter Masonic Lodge No. 364 and he was a KCCH 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason.
Surviving are his mother of Sumter; his wife of Sumter; one son, Justin P. Kuhns of Columbia; two aunts, Shirley Anderson of Apopka, Fla., and Ethel Jones of Winter Park, Fla.; and one uncle, Richard Miller of Connellsville, Pa.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Riner officiating.
The family will receive friends at Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home following the memorial service.
