John Edward Curry Obituary: View John Curry's Obituary by The State

LEXINGTON - The memorial service for John Edward Curry, 84, of Lexington, will be held 2 o'clock, Tuesday, May 31, 2011, at First Baptist Church of Lexington, with Pastor Ralph Schneck officiating. Members of the Lexington Masonic Lodge #152 and the S.O.S. Life Group are invited to serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1 o'clock. Shives Funeral Home is assisting the family. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Lexington, 415 Barr Rd, Lexington, SC 29072, First Baptist Church of Gaston, PO Box 309, Gaston, SC 29053, or to the charity of one's choice.
Mr. Curry died Thursday, May 26, 2011. Born in Madison, West Virginia, on January 22, 1927, he was a son of the late Edward Ship and Reber Stone Curry. After serving his country in the US Army, John spent many years in sales, and worked as a mortgage broker with Home Buyers Mortgage. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Lexington, the S.O.S. Life Group Sunday School Class, the Masonic Lodge #152, and was a Shriner.
Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Curry; daughters, Deborah (Rick) Stalvey and Cathi (Wallace) Fallaw, both of Gaston; step-son, Cliffton D. (Cindy) Krell of Lexington, SC; step-daughter, Angela "Angie" Babbette Krell of Columbia; grandchildren, Kyle, Tyler, Nicholas, Jacob, Shane, Adam, Levi, Tammy, Heather, Harvey and Terrell; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Norris E. Curry of Dayton, OH; brothers-in-law, William Fenimore and Buddy (Beth) Franklin; and sisters-in-law, Dottie Anderson and June Ann Dorne.
