Funeral services for Hala Perryman Ferguson, age 77, widow of Leon Ferguson, who passed away on Oct. 5, 2009, will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Norton Funeral Home chapel in Bishopville.
The Rev. John Hodges will officiate. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetary in Sumter. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Ferguson was born in Salem, Ark., a daughter of the late Henry and Mable Shell Perryman. She was a member of the Bishopville Prebyterian Church. She atteneded Arkansas University in Florence with a BA degree in Education and retired from Bishopville Primary School.
Surviving are two daughters: Janet (Jerry) Dickinson of Georgetown and Lana (Terry) Ward, of Lexington; three sons: Gregg Ferguson, of Bishopville, Gary (Angela) Ferguson, of Salem, Ark. and Scott (Brenda) Ferguson of Hartsville; 11 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two sisters: Gaye Miller, of Salem Ark. and Ava Jo Bowling of Horseshoe Bend, Ark.; a brother: Harlin Perryman, of Sacramento Ca.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Marx Perryman.
