Bettie Rowland McLeod, 87, widow of James Francis McLeod died Friday, October 9, 2009 at the home of her daughter.
Born in Asheville, NC she was a daughter of the late William Thomas Rowland and the late Frances Miller Rowland. Mrs. McLeod was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church. During her husband's term as Clerk of Court of Lee County, Mrs. McLeod served as his deputy Clerk of Court.
Survivors include a daughter, Frances Rowland "Scoozie" McLeod Jones (Marion); five grandchildren, Ingram Welch, McLeod Welch, Trey McLeod, III, Beth McLeod, and Laura Hudson; and eight great-grandchildren, Staci Welch, Matthew Welch, Cassidy Welch, Matthew Hudson, Ashley Volpe, Tee Welch, Katie Welch, and Marisa McLeod.
Preceded in death by a son, James Frances McLeod, Jr.
A memorial service will be held at 3 P.M. Monday at Bethlehem United Methodist Church with the Rev. Paul Rogers officiating.
The family will receive friends from 4-6pm Sunday at the home of her daughter, 412 Bradley Avenue, Bishopville.
