Alvin David Dubose - March 25, 2009

Bishopville, SC

Alvin David Dubose, 59, husband of Dorothy Pack Dubose, died March 25, 2009 at his home.

Born in Lee County, he was a son of Gladys Rodgers Dubose and the late James A. Dubose, Sr. Mr Dubose was a member of Memorial Chapel Church, CMA.

Survivors include his wife and mother of Bishopville; a daughter, Stephanie Dubose Spink (David) of Columbia; four sisters, Pat Ries (Michael) of MN, Mildred Christmas (Wilburn) of Bishopville, Christine Bryant (Robert) of Manning, and Grace Toler (Ken) of KS; two brothers, Jimmy Dubose (Doris) of Bishopville, and Ray Dubose (Susan) of Bishopville; and a large number of loving nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Donnie Dubose.

Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Sunday at Memorial Chapel Church, CMA with the Rev. Jim Peterson and the Rev. Don Riner officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Sammie Christmas, Keith Dubose, Alvi Ridgeway, Glenn Seagers, Larry Huggins, and Brian Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Dubose, Carl Pack, Dewey Pack, Robert Pack, and Ben Pack. 

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Saturday at Hancock-Elmore-Hill Funeral Home and other times at the home.

Lola Kelly McCoy - March 25, 2009

Bishopville

Lola Kelly McCoy, 79, widow of Leland McCoy, died March 25, 2009 at McCoy Nursing Center.

Born in Lee County, she was a daughter of the late Ashby Melton Kelly and the late Mamie Holland Kelley. Mrs. McCoy was a member of St. Matthew United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Robin Marie McCoy and Kelly McCoy; a brother, Pat Kelley (Mary Lou) of Orangeburg; a sister, Leconia Baker of Bishopville; three grandchildren, Edward Cobet Parnell, III (Rhonda Parnell), Anna Maria Parnell, and Jamie Lynn Parnell, DVM; four great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Riggins, Taylor Riggins, Edward Cobet Parnell, IV, and James Parnell; and several special nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday in the Hancock-Elmore-Hill Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Rickey Howell officiating. Burial will be in the St. Matthew United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday at Hancock-Elmore-Hill Funeral Home and other times at the home.
